As California looks for ways to meet the needs of a growing elderly population, Yorkshire House leads the way in implementing innovative programs. We were honored to be the first facility in the county selected for the ALW program, most importantly because of the incredible benefits the program offers to our residents and their families.

Today's economic realities, present challenges for everyone. While Assisted Living communities in California offer a wide range of pricing, including those at the low end that accept SSI ($981) to high-end communities that offer a high level of care and amenities ($3,000 - $5,000) a month, the fact remains that many Seniors can no longer afford the type of Assisted Living Community they'd hoped for, and many adult children who in the past would have contributed to the payment of their parents' care now find themselves unable to do so.

The Assisted Living Waiver Program (ALW) enables eligible Medi-Cal beneficiaries to enjoy the care of a top of the line Assisted Living community. The beneficiary is responsible for paying only $981 'Rent'. The balance of 'Care' expenses is paid for by Medi-Cal . The end result for the resident is $3,000+ a month accommodations and care for only $981 a month.
